The Marks 4WD Barra Patrol Conversion kit allows you to install the Ford Barra 4.0L 6-cylinder engine (NA or Turbo) and ZF 6HP26 2WD automatic transmission into the Nissan GU Patrol.

The package is designed around the ZD30 manual cross member, tail shafts, and low-range lever. If you are installing using a different model cross member or a combination of parts, you will need to check the clearances in areas such as engine to firewall, engine to radiator, and engine sump to front differential.

The transfer case adaptor fits all GU transfer cases (RD models need slight grinding). These kits are designed around the GU transfer case, which mounts the low-range lever directly to it. The GQ transfer case will bolt up, but you will need to sort out a custom low-range lever setup.

Designed and manufactured in-house at Marks 4WD in Dingley Village, Victoria, with the same attention to detail and high standards that Marks 4WD customers have come to expect, this kit utilises Weld-In Engine mounts for customers with a NON-ZD30 chassis.

Transfer Case Adaptor Kit

Designed to bolt directly to the Nissan Patrol crossmember and weld-in engine chassis posts, our conversion kit is engineered around the factory tailshafts and low-range lever, allowing it to fit within your existing driveline with minimal modification to factory components.

The engine mounts are designed to retain the OEM Ford Barra power steering pump, alternator (factory or aftermarket relocation kit), and air conditioning compressor, while supporting naturally aspirated installations and, for turbo applications, compatibility with the factory low-mount setup or 6Boost top-mount turbo manifolds from Barra the World. (Note: Using alternative crossmembers may alter engine position and component clearances.)

Transfer Case Adaptor

Machined from lightweight T5 cast aluminium, the adaptor housing features a precision spigot boss that locks concentrically onto the ZF 6HP26 bore.

For maximum leak protection, we designed the adaptor with oil sealing at two critical points using a rotary seal and O-ring combination, with factory hardware retained on the transfer case side to keep the installation clean and simple.

Coupler Shaft

Machined from heat-treated 8620 high-strength steel, the coupler shaft is precision-made to connect the 2WD transmission output shaft and your factory transfer case input shaft.

Transfer Case Adaptor Mounts 

Getting the driveline centred in the factory position is one of the most important steps in a good Barra conversion, which is exactly why we designed our swivelling mounts to deliver.
This allows you to dial in the factory driveline position, which significantly reduces Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) for a conversion that drives and feels like an OEM 4WD.
